I have been posting to this blog for over 13 years, each year reporting on accomplishments over the prior year and goals for the new year.

2024 is no different. My main photography goal for the year is listed in the January submission of the 2024 C.London 52 Week Photography Challenge. Content this year will work towards that goal in addition to my general shooting. Check out my website "About" page to learn more. The website is at www.jeffmarcowitz.photography

All content posted here in the blog will also be on the website, however with a subscription to the blog, you'll continue to receive the email notifications.

Thanks to all of you who have followed this photo blog for many years and welcome to any newcomers. My hope is that the images and stories are interesting and thought-provoking as I continue this creative journey. As always, comments, critiques and suggestions (here and the website) are welcome and appreciated as they often lead to new ideas and inspiration.

Thank You.

Frank

Frank
I’ve been shooting $2 Portraits for over 6 years and never has it happened where I’ve run into the same subject in a different city…until now.  Walking through the Palm Desert Flea Market, I encountered a person who looked familiar.  To my surprise, I reconnected with Frank, a gentleman I first photographed in Albuquerque back in May 2016.  It was great to hear that Frank’s second wife took him back and they recently relocated to Palm Springs where he joined on part time with the Forest Service.  After all the California wild fires this year, Frank spends much of his time around local hiking venues promoting fire safety.

We recounted his other stories from 18 months ago.  Frank told me he still has his penchant for Starbucks but after reconnecting with his second wife, his passion for younger women has moved up a decade into the 60’s.  I told Frank we come to Palm Desert twice a year and will search him out next March; perhaps even having a dinner with he and his wife.  We chatted for awhile; then $2 and a Starbucks later, parted ways.  What a coincidence!
