I have been posting to this blog for over 13 years, each year reporting on accomplishments over the prior year and goals for the new year.

2024 is no different. My main photography goal for the year is listed in the January submission of the 2024 C.London 52 Week Photography Challenge. Content this year will work towards that goal in addition to my general shooting. Check out my website "About" page to learn more. The website is at www.jeffmarcowitz.photography

All content posted here in the blog will also be on the website, however with a subscription to the blog, you'll continue to receive the email notifications.

Thanks to all of you who have followed this photo blog for many years and welcome to any newcomers. My hope is that the images and stories are interesting and thought-provoking as I continue this creative journey. As always, comments, critiques and suggestions (here and the website) are welcome and appreciated as they often lead to new ideas and inspiration.

Thank You.
Jeff

2 Years Later

2 Years Later
Via Flickr:
For those of you who have followed my $2 Portraits project, this young woman may look familiar. The story began in March 2010 in San Francisco and another chapter was written today.

As remote a possiblility as one could imagine, last month my son and his girlfriend moved to Indiana and coincidentally are living less than 3 miles from this young woman and her family. Of all the places in the US that they could have landed...and to land so close to her, will never cease to amaze me. So today, while visiting my son and his girlfriend, we met as families for the first time.

It was great to see her doing well, a far cry from the streets of San Francisco where we first met.

Now for the excuses - I did not want to interrupt this occasion by pulling out a big camera and taking lots of photos. Hence, this iPhone shot is the only one I have from this reunion.

  1. Jeff, I am so glad that you have been able to see with your own eyes the rewards of the kindness you showed this young woman. Who ever would have thought a "$2 Portrait" could have had such a far-reaching effect? I'm proud of her, and proud of you.
