I have been posting to this blog for over 14 years, each year reporting on accomplishments over the prior year and goals for the new year.

In 2025 and beyond, this Blog will be my main photography communication vehicle. Content will be varied and in the spirit of my approach to photography as described on the "About" page of my website at www.jeffmarcowitz.photography

The Project W pages on the website will be a curated collection of work representing the “Best Of” images posted here on the Blog. With a subscription, you'll continue to receive an email (with content) whenever I post to the Project W Blog.

Thanks to all of you who have followed this photo blog for many years and welcome to any newcomers. My hope is that the images and stories are interesting and thought-provoking as I continue this creative journey. As always, comments, critiques and suggestions (here and the website) are welcome and appreciated as they often lead to new ideas and inspiration.

Thank You.
Jeff

52Frames - Week 30 - Single Focal Point (Alternate)

As seen in the trees off my balcony. Made me wonder if this guy was cutting corners or constructed this funky pattern on purpose.

I captured this about 4 hours before the deadline and was too lazy to scramble and get it submitted as my primary submission.

CLondon52w34: Fill the Frame

From the C.London website: "If you’re unsure of how to effectively capture a scene, it may be because there are many distracting elements or unnecessary empty bits. Try filling the frame with your intended subject. This isolates the subject and makes it very obvious to the viewer. Don’t be afraid to get really close, either. Be completely unapologetic about your attempt to fill the frame. Combine this technique with patterns for a really dynamic shot."

Honing in on a small portion of some large, spherical, metal sculptures lining the riverwalk in McHenry, IL. The spider web is a bonus I was unsure about being able to capture.
