Choked Up

911 Memorial
New York, NY

The title of this shot describes my reaction when seeing this memorial for the first time. It was the same response I had when first visiting the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, DC.

Even though I did not lose anyone I knew personally in either the Vietnam War or 911, the power of these two memorials evoked a strong, involuntary emotional response. Kudos to the designers, for they captured "it" perfectly.

After leaving the theater and walking back to our hotel, we got to experience the utter chaos in Times Square on a Saturday night.

Towers in Trouble - Plate I

On 7/8/12, a brush fire broke out under the ComEd high tension lines. Equipment from 8 local communities was dispatched and after an hour or so, the fire was struck out. Cause: errant backyard fireworks.

For our 39th anniversary, Lin & I drove up to Lake Geneva for the day. Rented an 18' Bayliner speedboat and spent 2 hours cruising around Lake Geneva.
