When I think of community, it conjures up images of people. Having had a Covid exposure last weekend, it was not wise for me to engage with many people this week.  Instead, I focused on symbols in response to this challenge.

This is a composite of 4 photos from around my community.

From the C.London website: “High noon is one of the more despised time of day for many photographers. The sun is, well, high, and that light is harsh, so I understand how this may lend itself to be a major challenge. But remember, with harsh light come harsh shadows, maybe intentional lens flare, artfully blown out highlights, etc etc. Have fun experimenting with conditions you may not be comfortable with - look for light reflecting off windows, or cascading over a fence creating patterned shadows. Make the light work for you, not you having to work around it.”

Brief walk to a local park that I knew would throw off some good shadows.

Easy Street

I got the OK from Chelsea to switch timing for w37 & w38 prompts.

Not having flown my drone for quite awhile, I thought it would be a good opportunity for this prompt to photograph my neighborhood context from above. Easy access to shops, restaurants and the forest preserve makes for some pretty convenient living.

Path Deserted

The Des Plaines River Trail South is usually filled with walkers and cyclists.  In these days of Stay-at-Home orders, oftentimes we have this path to ourselves.  Trying to get at least a 3-mile walk or a bike ride in every day.

Help Wated

They make a mean meat sauce but cannot spell worth a damn. And the new owner was bitching to my wife (dropping F-bombs like crazy) about our neighborhood being too uppity and wealthy for him to find help.

I'm thinking he should look in a mirror. As good as the food was, we're done with LaRosa.
