I have been posting to this blog for over 13 years, each year reporting on accomplishments over the prior year and goals for the new year.

2024 is no different. My main photography goal for the year is listed in the January submission of the 2024 C.London 52 Week Photography Challenge. Frankie

Frankie Via Flickr:
While shooting photos in the Union Square area, he approached me and asked if I had any change so he could get something to eat. I told him about the $2 Portrait project and he started posing for pictures.

Frankie is 48 years old and has been in San Francisco for 8 years. He was born and raised in Texas and still has family there. I asked him what kind of work he used to do and he said "volunteer work". He was no more specific than that. I gave Frankie $2 and he immediately asked for more, which I found ironic since his first request was only for change. I offered to get him some food, but he opted for the $2 instead.

    Desperate for money, but smokes. I wonder if he bummed the cigarette?
